And still on the subject of these semi-cylindrical buildings, I found this interesting collection of photos. Using one as a cinema seems an odd choice of use, since the space must be long and narrow (instead of wide) so the screen size can't be that big. But I do love the additions that people have made to these buildings! :)

Until your post the other day about Nissen huts, I thought all this rounded types were Quonsets.
ReplyDeleteIt's a bit like Heath Robinson/Rube Goldberg- they both drew cartoons of unlikely contraptions, but the first was British, and the second American. Apparently though, Quonsets come in 3 styles - see http://www.quonset-hut.org/different-styles-of-quonset-buildings-quonset-hut-types/ - whereas the Nissen Huts were always the equivalent of the Q-Model Quonset.
