I just had an email from Yahoo. The essential part said:

    Chinese, North Korean or Russian state sponsored hacking groups ... the don't normally refer that way to the USA, Israeli or other similar groups.

    Yes but they don't refer to them as "state sponsored".

    Beware, there are people sending out messages like that pretending to be Yahoo. You need to call Yahoo and confirm before believing the email.

    The email address looked legit, but of course as ever the best thing is to go directly to their main site and check there
