I've been thinking of finally updating to Win 10 at home. I have 3 PCs still on Win7 and the NUC on Win 10. The Good Guys have a clearance sale for the Home version at $A 146. This is the sort of decision I tend to dither over until I've missed the opportunity.

You are going to have to if you want to continue using Windows.
ReplyDeleteYes, but it's all a matter of timing. I don't want to upgrade them all at the same time, because when one or more installs fail (and I've read of more than one that has) I won't have a PC to fall back on.
ReplyDeleteIs $145 a good price? I'll still be able to hhave my home network, I hope.
I have no idea about the price. I have an isolated machine that I'll keep at Windows 7 and everything else will be Linux or maybe OpenBSD.
ReplyDeleteFor the longest time I wanted to move to Linux, but there are two many programs I want to use that only run on Win, like Clip Studio Paint, Illustrator, No Man's Sky, Test Drive Unlimited, et cetera. Having tried WINE and Virtual machines I found both to be limited and flawed. There's no update path if you use those.
ReplyDeleteSo I guess I'm committed to Windows.
