Since the April Upgrade, when M$ got rid of the HomeGroup, I've been having sharing issues, in that the folders I'd shared don't appear under Network. I ca however access them via shortcuts on Double Commander, so clearly they're still there. But this is bloody annoying!
This article alleges to explain how to share files now. I shall be reading this closely.

Kind of odd however that references to the HomeGroup still exist.

Navigate to \\cpuname, Right click the shared folder. Mao drive to a letter.
ReplyDeleteThanks. I figured it out eventually (with some help from using Double Commander). I've got those net drives and shortcuts back, but nothing appears in the network dialog box anymore, so what I did was make libraries for each PC and add the directories underneath those.
ReplyDeleteYou know, I can sort of see why they've done this, but it's a bit like Facebook adding STORIES and not explaining what it is. I mean with this system, a sys admin can keep their users (and anyone snooping about) in the dark to where stuff is!
