Have always found this a handy Windows program to load at Start. It disables the Caps Lock (and also the Insert key if you want) but you can also set it so that pressing Shift+Caps toggles the CAPSLOCK. wHY IS THIS SO hELPFUL, YOU ASK?! Because when I type I have a habit of accidentally hitting the thing. :P

You can also use the technique at https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/disable-caps-lock-key-in-windows-vista/, but I find this little utility is more flexible.
